A successful welcome week for trainees in Winterberg
Once more, in September 2023, the vocational training department of REMONDIS Maintenance & Services arranged an entertaining welcome week in Winterberg for its new pipe, sewer, and industrial service (FRKI) apprentices. In addition to making it easier for them to begin their vocational training, the objective of the event was to strengthen the team dynamic from the outset. The days were filled with workshops in which the participants gained valuable knowledge about the company, their training and the expectations placed on them. This helped the trainees overcome any anxiety they might have had about beginning their career by allowing them to become familiar with the tasks and obligations that were ahead of them early on. In addition, various team-building activities were organised and the participants were given the opportunity to get to know the works council and their future HR manager.
The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the climbing activity. In a disused stone quarry, which has been converted into a climbing park, the apprentices were able to put their teamwork and trust in their colleagues to the test. Among other things, the participants were divided into smaller groups and required to rely on one another's words to complete the course while blindfolded. This activity helped to build a sense of belonging and create a basis for working together at BUCHEN over the coming years.
All in all, REMONDIS Maintenance & Services' welcome week was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. In addition to receiving vocational preparation, the participants underwent a trip that bolstered their confidence and teamwork abilities. Without a doubt, the apprentices' pleasant start will remain in their memory for a very long time and have a long-lasting effect on their professional advancement.
