The REMONDIS Maintenance & Services Group is continuing to grow internationally. The company group has now acquired the Dutch company, J.G.Th. van Wingerden B.V., as well as its direct subsidiary, Wiko Isolatietechniek B.V., as part of a share deal. Both companies, which operate on the market under the name Wiko, were taken over in full with retroactive effect from January 1, 2022. The signing and closing of the transaction took place on December 7, 2022.
REMONDIS Maintenance & Services has already been present in the Netherlands for some time with five operating companies and a wide range of services. The acquisition of Wiko has further strengthened the company's existing activities in the two core areas of scaffolding and insulation. In addition to their long-standing industrial customer base, the newly acquired companies bring with them well-trained specialists, extensive scaffold materials and locations in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Furthermore, Wiko's cooperation with other companies within the group, which are active in the fields of industrial cleaning, surface technology, sludge dewatering as well as catalyst handling and reactor services, offers promising options.
Within the REMONDIS Maintenance & Services Group, the new companies will be integrated into the national holding company, REMONDIS Maintenance & Services B.V., and will initially continue to operate under the established name of Wiko.
Jonny Kappen, managing director of REMONDIS Maintenance & Services B.V., commented: "By acquiring Wiko, we have once again set an important course for further expanding our market position in the Netherlands. By networking Wiko's services with our own portfolio, we will be able to offer an even wider range of services and provide customers with full-service solutions that offer decisive added value."
