The central bridge, currently undergoing renovation, is one of Europe’s longest concrete bridges for standard-gauge railways, surpassed in length only by a bridge in Switzerland. Due to its historical significance, the restoration is closely supervised by the Swedish National Heritage Board.
BUCHEN’s task involves removing the surface layer of the bridge’s edge beam to enable the recasting of the surface. This work is performed by two operators using a water jetting robot powered by a 3000-bar pump. The working environment is quite unique, both because the work is carried out on the standard-gauge bridge, 37 meters above the surface of the Öre River, and because the bridge is classified as a national heritage site. This designation entails an obligation to ensure its condition is preserved
BUCHEN’s Swedish operations handle a wide range of water jetting projects across the country. With equipment tailored to each project, assignments are customized to meet customer needs. Our latest technology includes high-pressure systems with noise-dampened robots and environmentally friendly engines. We carry out water jetting in various environments, and our equipment complies with all environmental regulations.
